About On Being Group

Who We Are

At On Being Group, we believe that true transformation begins from within. We are a pioneering ICF-certified coaching group specializing in ontological coaching – a unique and powerful approach beyond traditional coaching methods. We focus on helping individuals and leaders discover and align with their deepest selves, fostering profound personal and professional growth.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower individuals and leaders to achieve authentic, lasting change. Utilizing our distinctive ontological coaching methods, we guide our clients through self-discovery and awareness. By addressing not just what our clients do but who they are, we enable them to transform their perspectives, behaviors, and, ultimately, their results.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a global leader in ontological coaching, creating a world where people live and lead from their true selves. We aspire to cultivate a community of individuals and leaders who are deeply aware, authentically engaged, and committed to meaningful, fulfilling lives.

Our Approach

At On Being Group, we stand out through our unique approach to coaching, rooted in ontology – the study of being. Unlike other coaching models that focus primarily on actions and behaviors, our ontological approach delves into the underlying dimensions of human existence. We explore how our clients are being and how this influences their actions and outcomes.

OAR Model

Our OAR Model (Observer, Action, Results) helps clients break free from habitual, self-limiting patterns. Clients can uncover and shift limiting beliefs by learning to observe the observer that they are. This creates the possibility for entirely new actions and results that align with their authentic selves.

BEL Model

The BEL Model integrates the cognitive, emotional, and physical dimensions of being. Unlike traditional coaching methods that focus solely on language and thought, our approach helps clients understand and harness the insights from their bodies and emotions. This holistic view provides a comprehensive understanding of their state and potential for change.

IFS-Informed

The IFS Model (Internal Family Systems) is a transformative tool that views every person as a system of inner parts led by a core Self. IFS fosters deep inner and outer connectedness by helping clients access and heal their protective and wounded parts. This model empowers individuals to live with confidence, compassion, and courage, enhancing personal and professional relationships.

 FAQs

  • Coaching is a professional relationship that helps individuals achieve their personal and professional goals. Through a collaborative process, coaches provide guidance, support, and accountability, enabling clients to unlock their potential, overcome obstacles, and create actionable plans for success.

  • On Being Group stands out by using an ontological coaching style developed through the presitgious and ICF-certified Newfield Network coaching training program. It integrates multiple models of understanding ourselves, including the OAR model (Observer, Action, Result), the BEL model (Body, Emotions, and Language), providing a comprehensive and holistic approach to coaching.

Our focus on ontological coaching allows us to address both the visible actions and the underlying beliefs and states of being, enabling profound and lasting change.

We are IFS-informed. This means we have an understanding of ourselves as a core Self leading many different parts.

  • Yes, our coaches are certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), ensuring they meet the highest standards of professional coaching practice. We are also certified by Newfield Network, one of the first leading coaching programs in the world.

  • Ontological coaching is a unique and powerful approach that focuses on the way individuals are being and how they show up in the world. Rooted in ontology—the study of being—it examines the underlying dimensions of human existence, such as beliefs, emotions, and body language, and how these dimensions shape our experiences and actions.

Ontological coaching goes beyond conventional coaching methods that often concentrate solely on changing behaviors or achieving external goals. Instead, it delves into the client's internal landscape to explore their perceptions, attitudes, and habitual ways of being. This approach recognizes that lasting change and authentic transformation occur when individuals become aware of and shift their foundational ways of observing and interacting with the world.

Through ontological coaching, clients learn to:

    • Identify and shift limiting beliefs: By examining the beliefs that underpin their actions, clients can transform self-limiting patterns and create new possibilities.

    • Integrate body, emotions, and language: Understanding the interconnectedness of these three aspects allows clients to gain deeper self-awareness and align their actions with their true selves.

    • Develop a more authentic presence: Clients cultivate a way of being that is congruent with their core values and aspirations, leading to more meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Our ontological coaching framework includes models such as the OAR (Observer, Action, Results) and BEL (Body, Emotions, Language), which provide structured methods for exploring and transforming clients' inner and outer worlds. This holistic approach supports clients in achieving profound personal and professional growth, ultimately enabling them to navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.

  • While both coaching and therapy aim to support personal growth, they differ in focus and approach. Therapy often addresses mental health issues, past traumas, and psychological healing, typically working with diagnoses and treatment plans.

Coaching, on the other hand, focuses on the present and future, helping clients achieve specific goals, enhance performance, and realize their potential through guidance and self-discovery.

  • Our coaching services are ideal for corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals in transition, and individuals seeking personal development. Anyone looking to align with their true self and achieve meaningful growth can benefit from our unique ontological approach.

    • Coaching Relationship and Contract: At the beginning of any coaching relationship, the Coach will articulate the terms of the Client/Coach relationship in a clear communication or agreement.

    • Client Protection: The Client’s wellbeing is the central focus of a coaching relationship and thereby obligates the Coach to maintain a high level of integrity and trustworthiness throughout the contract.

    • Confidentiality: The Coach will make every effort to honor the Client’s confidence, although the Coach cannot provide a guarantee (meaning a Coach can be subpoenaed under the law).

    • Conflicts of Interest: Any conflict of interest is to be discussed and resolved with the Client’s best interest in mind.
